The Team

YaÄŸmur Ümit
My journey with psychology began during my time at Koç High School, where I took Higher Level Psychology as part of the IB program. From early on, I was fascinated by the workings of the human mind—the origins of emotions, the mechanisms behind behavior, and the complex ways in which we experience the world. This curiosity led me to pursue a Psychology degree at the University of Exeter, where I graduated with high honors. Throughout my studies, my passion for thinking deeply, observing closely, and understanding holistically only grew stronger. Following my undergraduate education, I was accepted into the MSc program in Mental Health: Psychological Therapies at Queen Mary University of London. This program allowed me to integrate both clinical and theoretical knowledge in a meaningful way. During this period, I met Clinical Psychologist Özden Bayraktar. What started as a collaboration focused on researching content for her social media platforms gradually evolved into a deeper involvement in the therapeutic process. This experience significantly contributed to both my professional development and my intuitive understanding of therapy. My clinical training includes internships at leading institutions in Istanbul, such as Moodist Hospital, Lape Hospital, and Rehber Clinic. During these placements, I had the opportunity to work with individuals from a wide range of age groups and psychological backgrounds. I also received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based approaches, which I now actively integrate into the sessions I lead. Currently, I work both in one-on-one sessions and in the development of psychological content. My goal is to support individuals in building a more peaceful and empowered inner world—always approaching their unique needs with respect, empathy, and ethical care.

I’m a therapist with a Master’s degree from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Essex. Currently, I’m working towards a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, further advancing my clinical expertise. Since September 2021, I have had the privilege of working alongside Ozden Bayraktar, gaining invaluable experience supporting clients through complex challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, social phobia, panic attacks, stress, attachment difficulties, family issues, and relationship problems. I also specialise in working with clients facing gaming addiction, emotional regulation difficulties, and confidence/identity struggles. I offer online therapy, providing flexible, accessible, and personalised support tailored to each client’s unique journey. What sets my practice apart is my intensive research background and professional certifications in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which ensure my work is deeply informed by the latest evidence-based approaches. I also integrate mindfulness techniques to help clients build awareness and resilience. I’m not just present during sessions but I actively support my clients between meetings by providing tailored tasks, homework, and practical tools designed to accelerate growth and embed lasting change. My goal is to create a compassionate, collaborative, and empowering space where clients feel truly supported at every step. Fluent in both English and Turkish, I’m dedicated to delivering culturally sensitive therapy that respects and embraces diversity.
